Teak Furniture Care & Maintenance Guide
Chelsea BooneStep 1. Allow Your Furniture to Acclimate.
Please allow your furniture to acclimate to the weather for approximately 2 weeks.
Step 2: Seal your furniture.
Once your furniture has acclimated and is in the exact condition you would like to preserve it (clean & spotless) use Royal Teak's Teak Sealer to seal your furniture. Follow all manufacturer's recommendations and precautions as listed on the bottle.
Step 3: Expect your furniture to age gracefully.
Like all wood furniture, your teak furniture will change and age gracefully over time. The speed at which your furniture weathers will vary due to exposure to the elements and can happen any time within a few days to a few months. Expect to see small checks (roughing of the surface), and what may appear to be small cracks in the surface of the wood.
Step 4: Restore.
Your teak furniture can be brought back to life, even after years of use or neglect. Use Royal Teak's Teak Cleaner to clean your furniture. Pressure wash the furniture, lightly sand high touch surfaces such as arm rests and seats, then apply Royal Teak's Teak Sealer.
