Jensen Outdoor Furniture: Care and Maintenance

Step 1: Allow Your Furniture to Acclimate.

Your Jensen furniture comes from the factory with the stain applied. Please allow your furniture to acclimate to the weather for 3 to 5 days. It is highly recommended that you let your furniture get rained on at least once, or rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose and allow it to dry in the sun to remove any excess stain. Staining cushions and clothing is possible if your furniture has not weathered.

Step 2: Expect your furniture to age gracefully.

Like all wood furniture, your ipe furniture will change and age gracefully over time. The speed at which your furniture weathers will vary due to exposure to the elements and can happen any time within a few days to a few months. Expect to see small checks (roughing of the surface), and what may appear to be small cracks in the surface of the wood.
