    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put these logs in a fireplace from another brand?

Vent-free logs must go in a firebox that's approved for them. This package is approved for the Monessen fireboxes listed above. For an existing masonry or wood-burning fireplace, call us and we'll point you to the right option.

    Millivolt or IPI?

Millivolt keeps a small standing pilot lit and works in a power outage. IPI lights the pilot only when you turn the fire on, saving gas.

    Does it need a chimney?

No. It's vent-free, so it installs in an approved vent-free firebox with no flue.
