Myrtle Beach Outdoor Living: A Comfortable, Low-Maintenance Retreat for Family & Friends

Understanding the Client’s Vision

Space for 4–6, Without the Clutter

From the start, the request was clear: create an inviting place where 4–6 family members and friends could relax together, without crowding the patio. We focused on right-sizing each zone—pool, bar, and dining—so everything feels open and easy to move through. That meant thoughtful furniture footprints, smart pathways, and pieces that do more than one job (like gliders that invite long conversations but don’t chew up space).

Comfort and Durability Come First

The second must-have was comfort with real durability. Myrtle Beach sunshine, salt air, and surprise gusts can be tough on outdoor furniture. We needed materials and construction that would stand up to it all while still feeling soft, supportive, and welcoming for everyday use.

Design Strategy

A “Clean but Calm” Palette: Seashell + Black

For the pool furniture, we went with Berlin Gardens in the Seashell finish. It’s a clean, low-contrast look that complements water tones and landscaping without shouting for attention. Around the bar and dining areas, we introduced Black—a crisp, timeless accent that instantly feels elegant. The contrast is subtle but intentional: Seashell reads as breezy and relaxed; Black anchors the space and ties together the architectural details.

Berlin Gardens: Comfort, Style, and Easy Care

We centered the seating plan around Berlin Gardens—specifically the Comfo and Bristol collections—because they bring that sweet spot of comfort, durability, and style. These lines are known for supportive ergonomics and long-wearing materials that don’t demand a lot from the homeowner. That’s a win on busy days (and a huge plus in a coastal climate).

Just as important, the collections mix beautifully. The silhouettes feel cohesive without being matchy-matchy, which keeps the overall look airy and tailored to the home rather than a showroom set.

Real Life Approved: Low Maintenance That Still Looks Sharp

The clients asked for very low maintenance—but they didn’t want to sacrifice style. We selected finishes and fabrics that rinse off easily, resist fading, and don’t require seasonal fuss. The goal: more time swimming, grilling, and catching sunsets—and less time cleaning or repairing.

Shade That Works Hard: Frankford Umbrellas

For shade, we chose Frankford umbrellas. These are designed with a heavy awning-grade canopy and built to perform in higher winds—the kind of reliability you appreciate when the afternoon sea breeze picks up. They’re also a favorite in commercial settings, which was a big reason we brought them into this residential space: dependable hardware, smooth operation, and a canopy that holds its shape and color. Function aside, they add a polished architectural note that frames the pool and seating beautifully.

The Outcome: A Comfortable Myrtle Beach Escape

Saddle Stools That Bring People Together

At the bar, Berlin Gardens saddle stools deliver comfort in a compact footprint. The curved seat keeps guests comfortably perched for a quick drink or a long chat, and the sleek profile prevents visual clutter. In Black, they echo the dining set and create a crisp, modern moment that balances the light poolscape.

Why it works here:

  • Space-savvy shape that doesn’t crowd the walkway

  • Easy-clean surfaces for salt air and splash zones

  • Coordinated finish that ties into the broader color story

A Gliding Set for Long Conversations

In the lounge zone, a Berlin Gardens gliding set became the heart of the “stay a while” area. Gliders are the kind of seating people naturally gravitate to—there’s something so soothing about that gentle motion. Paired with a side table or two, this setup invites coffee at sunrise, reading in the shade, and late-night debriefs after a day on the beach.

Why it works here:

  • Deep, supportive seats for real comfort

  • Motion without bulk—keeps the space visually light

  • Durable frames and low-care fabrics built for coastal weather

Poolside Chilling with Chaise Lounges

No Myrtle Beach retreat is complete without chaise lounges by the water. We placed them in the Seashell finish to keep the pool deck calm and breezy. Adjustable backs make it easy to switch from reading to napping, and the scale is generous without swallowing up deck space. With the Frankford umbrellas nearby, guests can choose full sun or a cool poolside nook.

Why it works here:

  • A serene, not-too-bright finish that blends with the pool

  • Flexible reclining for sunbathers and book lovers alike

  • Durable components that hold up season after season

A Layout That Breathes

Across the entire project, we kept a close eye on flow. The clients did not want to overfill the patio, so we used furniture groups to define zones—without building a maze. There’s room to walk between the bar, dining, and pool areas, and each zone feels intentional: dining for meals, gliders for conversations, chaises for relaxing, and stools for quick snacks and cocktails. The result is an outdoor space that looks clean and feels effortless.

Style That Lasts (Literally)

Everything here was selected to look great for years—and be easy to live with. Berlin Gardens’ materials and construction offer long-term durability with a comfortable sit you’ll actually use every day. Frankford umbrellas add the performance shade that coastal homes demand. And the Seashell + Black palette stays current even as trends shift.
